JR 155 or JR 165

Hi,
According the fact that helmets of the JR155 (garrisons in Ostrowo and Pleschen) are quite seldom and not well documented, and the fact that the JR165, as a very few other regiments, used to mark its helmets in the shell between the grommets and not on the back visor, here we have a beautiful JR165 (garrisons Quedlinburg and Blankenburg), so it should show a Waterloo plate.

It did have a waterloo plate but seller put it as Regiment JR 155. The plate was a model 1871 plate with the threaded posts, I do have a M1895 plate so that should fix it.

Some good and authentic helmets with threaded posts plate into grommets have existed! Mostly assembled during the war (1915-16) by the BJAs with old fittings that still were available, because of the lack of fittings. I had such a KAR gard helmet in my collection and still have a FR90/ RJR90 with this particularity. The emblem of the RJR90 helmet is an old M91 plate put on a M95 helmet. One can see clearly the trace left by the threads and nuts in the liner. No traces of loops!

That is a nice helmet. If I can get my hands on such helmets, I don't mind that it is a M91 post threaded plate LOL
Anyway, this collector whom I got my Waterloo helmets from - think he just put in all the plates without bearing in mind the model. I got off a M1867 Artillery 8 A.F with threaded posts, then M95 Oldenberg helmet stamped O.J.R. 91 with threaded original oldenberg plate and then M95 Waterloo helmet stamped J.R. 165 with original threaded posts (early plate where the waterloo bandau was soldered onto the plate). I think this guy just got too obsessed with threaded posts plates, there were no traces of the threaded posts on the liner like yours.
