Note the features that make it a typical 91' model:
- overall heavy construction; thick leather lining
- no aerator
- shape of the chinstrap hooks
- shape of the cockade (large, very rounded outer rim)
- attachment of the rear spine on the visor
- it was first dated 1893 and
I should have added the non-grommetted holes to affix the front plate, and the latter attached with screws and nuts; all characteristics of pre-1895 models.
