JR173 helmet from (very) old collection

Attached to the liner is a tag that describes the helmet. This is the old German handwriting (Kurrent? Suetterlin?..), which would probably date it as anterior to WWII. Some of you may know more than I do about this. It seems that this item was part of a collection of 22 helmets. Who knows what happened to the others...

A comment on the ID tag description.....he/she certainly knew how to interpret the helmet stampings. I would suspect therefore the collector had a military background. An excellent helmet with great markings.
