This on ebay:

Am I right on this? A Lederhelm marked to JzP would be probably for supply or other, non-mounted, member of the troop? Also, would it have a JzP (Dragoon) or line eagle as this one has? (I wonder because this one looks like a replacement?)

Ron this is not the first example I see of a regular infantry M15 with JzP markings. All of them had the common line infantry eagle.

The reinforcements had to be outfitted fast. This was one of the "young" J z Pf Regiments (1913). Metal helmets were expensive.

Nice helmet. Great stamp !

Any way we can get that stamp picture for our regimental markings list??? That is a superbe marking on that rear visor. I tried but got nowhere.
PS...got it Logan showed me how.

I don't have it – I wrote the seller.

No leather was regular for Regiment eight and higher. They had a Dragoon eagle normally.

This was not a start of the war issue – as you said metal was very expensive and the newer units were not budgeted for the metal.

Indeed: should have been the Dragoner eagle. By that time they had to scrape the very last item of the Kammer stocks to get the reinforcements outfitted.

Francis

So, judging from stocks and whatnot, although it should have the Dragoon eagle, would the line plate be correct also? Although, on this one, if you look at the lacquer by the eagle's left wing, there seems to be one small curved mark that might have been from a Dragoon Adler... just near the 'wrist'? of the wing. (where the wing turns outward toward the 'finger' feathers.. :???:
