JZP M1915 EM Metalhelme

Guys, I'm being offered this helmet for a reasonable price.
Unfortunately, the pictures forwarded to me aren't clear enough. From what I can tell, the (large) cockades have been repainted, at least the white center rings. According to the seller, the "blued exterior is at least 95% showing some age speckling and surface rust in some small areas, but it is all dark and blends nicely"...
What do you think about it? Does the feldgrau paint look authentic or a recent job? The seller says fittings and trim have all "been repainted M1910 gray" but doesn't know if this was done at production or post-war...
Again, I'm hesitating and need your advice.

I would bet the trim, Wappen and spike were repainted at the same time as the Kockarden, and I would also bet it was more recent.

Guess you're both right...
Maybe I should switch to collecting Soviet Cold War Era headgear; much cheaper, still well preserved, and will eventually gain in value and bring me a fortune in 100 years from now...

Don't laugh. I have some nice Imperial German stuff, AND a collection of Soviet Cold War Era headgear.

I'm not laughing; I believe these things will pick-up very soon and what you're doing is very smart. It's like telling you to start collecting German Imperial headgear only back in the 40s.
Nevertheless, I think German headgear (ww1 or ww2) has much more character and 'controversy' around it than any other (hence it being the most expensive/wanted).
