Interesting photo of the Kaiser in the field during the Kaiser maneuver in 1913. He is apparently hosting King Constantine (of Greece?). Two Musikmeisters, one from the GDC and one from GKR, are blowing fanfares while a Leib Garde Hussar officer looks on. Enjoykaiser_on_manuevers_crop2_25b.jpg

One of the super Oscar Tellgmann prints of the Kaisermanöver of 1913 in Silesia. It is King Constantine of Greece. The two "Musikmeister" are the trumpeters of the 1. and 2. Zug (troop) of the Leib-Gendarmerie. They held the rank of a Vizewachtmeister.

I think when Herr Tellgmann put this album together, he mixed up a couple of years. This photo dates from the 1911 Kaisermanöver held in Mecklenburg. The mounted general next to the Kaiser is General der Infanterie von Moltke and not General der Kavallerie von Scholl. The Leibgarde-Husaren officer is Oberleutnant Camill Ritter und Edler von Rogister attached as an orderly officer to the Kaiser. Lieutenant von Rogister survived WW1 and retired as an Oberstleutnant. At the extreme right of the photo is General à la suite, Generalmajor Friedrich von Gontard.

Thanks Glenn....The label came with the photo but was not attached to it. It's possible the seller got it mixed up. Once again, thanks for the awesome ID's

My pleasure,

I am pretty certain that the officer next to General von Gontard is Flügel-Adjutant, Major Max Freiherr von Holzing-Berstett (a later Generalmajor).
