DennisLooks like there is a cypher on the shoulder strap if you look closely. Plus only the GdC and KR1 wore that particular shape of ringkragen, which I believe was issued in 1896?

Leib instead of Lieb.Dennis
Thanks so much for your feedback.
The great thing about this back & fourth is that
it makes us think and do research.
You got me to thinking on the 1 L K R 1
So I hit the reference books.
Here is what threw me with the photo.
I was not thinking about how old the regiment was.
The drum cover that we see in the photo was the 1st old model.
They had a drum cover dating back to 1816.
The new model was given in 1903.
The helmet plate change was 1902
along with the "new " saddle blanket.
So I have attached an artist color postcard of the new cover. circa 1903
Also color plates with the 1816 cover
and the 1903 covers
Parade and Dienst which the pattern is like the
saddle blanket and pistol flaps
My first photo posted would be before 1902 .

from a German Military Music referenceLeib instead of Lieb.
Leib Kürassier is correct. Not Cuirassier (French). And "Lieb" means "lovely"... Probably a translation of a translation. This is the bad result. Leib as in Regiment or Sub-unit [Komp, Esk] meaning: a unit where members of Ruling Family serve or have served.from a German Military Music reference

While the people who put out the Kettle drum cover work did misspell the word LeibLeib Kürassier is correct. Not Cuirassier (French). And "Lieb" means "lovely"... Correct! While the people who put out the Kettle drum cover work did misspell the word Leib
I do not think that we can say using the term Cuirassier Regt 1 is incorrect
The Standarte ring is stamped I C R
all Standarte rings of Regts 1 to 8
are stamped with the letter C
Roman Numerals are placed in front of the letters
II C R ; III C R ; IV C R ; V C R ; VI C R ; VII C R ; VIII C R
