Those of you that know me, know I love Kokarden and how they originally where sold or issued etc.

Shown here are a couple original Kokarden boxes as well as two different envelopes that came with Kokarden.

Just picked up the one on bottom right, 68MM large Kokarden with envelope.

Very interesting.
The cardboard boxes look like they are constructed out of the same heavy cardboard that bullets were packed in.
I am also intrigued by the 68mm Kokarden. Weren't Officer Kokarden usually 55mm on leather Pickelhauben and 73mm on Kurassier?
Do you know anything about 68mm enlisted Kokarden? That is what I have on my Leib Kurassier helmet shown here:

https://www.pickelhaubes.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=11811

I still cannot find info on the 68mm size, only 75mm, 73mm, 63mm, 55mm, 51mm, and 48mm.

Awesome..thank you for sharing :bravo:
I‘m also looking for all informations about fabrication of Pickelhaubes and military „Effekten“, but there are not many pictures about it in the Net and I didn‘t find books about that Topic. Very cool to see original boxes...really like it :thumb up:

Great items James, thanks for sharing!

I've added a photo of a box partially full that's in a museum here in the Midwest.

Best Regards,

Alan

Very interesting James....amazing that those boxes and envelopes have lasted this long. :thumb up:

Thanks for the comments guy's, it is appreciated.

John- great question on the 68MM size and what where they for? To be honest I am not sure, will have to do some digging in some books to see if I can find anything?

Best

James
