I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on item 1488, I myself am wondering if its from 1870 or 1896. I know very little about kurasses that date after 1815 any help would be appreciated.

That's a very good question. I don't know I think it is two different parts that were used together in 1896. Kube says it's in outstanding maintenance condition -- he tends to be hard on things. I don't know that much about these and the prices seem to be all over the board from €500 to 9000 US. As references on these are less easy to come by I guess what you want is pretty important. I really enjoy mine -- it just does not fit my helmets!
 
I see, Thanks I think ill save my green for an earlier kurass, however attractive this one is a little too late for my collection.
