Kurassier Opinions

This helmet has me a bit puzzled:

Initially it looks pretty good, but after taking a close look some issues are uncovered.
The rivets holding the skull to the visor and neck guard are not brass, and don't really appear to be rivets, but brads instead.
The hole in the skull where the spike mounts is tiny in comparison to other Metalhelms.
The spike appears to have been filed down to better fit the spike base.
The studs for the spike base are bent pins instead of screw fasteners.
The list goes on.

Has anyone seen this configuration before?
Is it legitimate?

This looks all wrong, John.
In addition to your remarks, this high-domed shell and old-style eagle do not match the M91 side posts and chinscales. Moreover, these side posts are not for a cavalry helmet; indexes should be rounded and not triangular. If a genuine older shell, there should be a ridge on the back and a different visor. The attachment of this one is wrong. The detachable (?) spike is unusual; I have never seen one with such a rim at the basis. And basically, a Kurassier helmet should be silver in colour, not black (except for some M15s).
