This is an older (do not know how old) Totenkopf and matching Vaterlandbandeau (White metal) for the Leibhusaren Regt 1 or 2 Pelzmütze.
At the back one of the brass fasteners (? correct word-thank you !) is missing.
I do not want to polish and shine it !!! The patina is great. Placed in a small-deep- Ikea frame with some black felt "liner" behind it. Some people give me the evil eye when they come and visit. They think it's SS....(would never collect this kind of stuff...)
The meaning of this kind of Totenkopf insigna was: "No quarter is given; no quarter is expected"
