Certainly an interesting bit of equipment, but I wonder what it was for? If WWII Stahlhelms were leather, then okay, but... ??????? :-k :-k

I suspect that this was for making helmets for a film or stage production.

Or a milliner form which, by coincidence, has the shape of a helmet. Remember the hats worn by women in the 1930's.
