I am posting this for Jim Turinetti. Somehow I think this helmet cost more than a bag of Doritos. He sent me 1 million pictures and this is just a subset. Look at the sword hilt on the Wappen.
This has been fun. I have really enjoyed sifting through the old Rangliste for the following information:
Lippe - Detmold Flügel Adjutanten to the Fürst of Lippe-Detmold and Orderly Officers
1914 Rangliste
Pg 34
Flügel Adjutanten to the Fürst of Lippe-Detmold
Hptm. v. Naßmer effective 27 Jan 1910
pg 35
Orderly Officer to the Fürsten zur Lippe D
Hptm. v. Gillhaußen effective 27 Jan 1913

1912 Rangliste
pg 33
Flügel Adjutanten to the Fürst of Lippe-Detmold
Hptm. v. Naßmer effective 27 Jan 1910
Pg 34
Orderly Officer to the Fürst of Lippe-Detmold
Oblt v. Gillhaußen effective 10 Sep 1908

1898 Rangliste
pg 29
Fürstlich Lippischer Flügel Adjutant
Maj. v. Malachoski

1895 Rangliste
pg 29
Fürstlich Lippischer Flügel Adjutant
Maj. v. Michels

1885 Rangliste
pg 31
Flügel Adjutant to the Fürsten zur Lippe
Hptm. v. Rodenwald

It is my guess that the helmet belonged to Orderly Officer to the Fürst of Lippe-Detmold
Oblt v. Gillhaußen effective 10 Sep 1908.

From J-L Larcade's Vol I Chapter 6:

Tschako's and helmets of the "Flügeladjutanten" to the Princes of Lippe-Detmoldt:
*1867-1871: they wear the Prussian Tschako Mod 1860 for Offz of the Jäger zu Fuss; However, with
the simple leather chinstrap.
-Wappen: Silvered; 8-rayed star with the coat of arms of Lippe.
-Feldzeichen: red-white.
-Haarbusch: a small HB was worn at Full dress.
*1871-1876: no particular headwear: Flügeladjutant Hugo von Donop wore the uniform of his unit of
origin: the 3.Pr Regt Garde zu Fuss.
*1876-1912: the helmet Mod 1876 is the one for the Prussian Generals with silver fittings.
-Wappen: silver-plated Adler for Pr Linien/Line Dragoner/Dragoons, with Vaterlandbandeau "Mit
Gott für Koenig und Vaterland".
-On the body of this Adler: a silver-plated, 8-rayed star with the gilded Lippische Rose.
-Kokarden: right side: Prussian Land Kokarde; from 22 March 1897 on: replaced by the
Reichskokarde. The Land Kokarde is then worn on the left.
-Haarbusch: white horsehair.
*1912-1918:
-Wappen of the Mod 1876 PH is adjusted in 1912. The central motif doesn't change; the Dragoner
Adler is replaced by the large, silver-plated, Prussian Garde Adler with the Prussian motto.

It's not don't like, just getting confused why the Baden helmet showed up. Maybe when you gave some explanation, I can understand...

One of these sold back in the 1980's - early 90's I think at Wallis & Wallis (possibly Kent Sales). It was a bargain at whatever price it went for, I just remember that more common stuff went for a lot more and this was very much overlooked.
I can't remember what it sold for but I couldn't afford it at the time th' it was an obviously very good low price.
