Hello fellow collectors,
I would like to introduce you to an M/67 from one of the Foot Artillery Regiments Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 6.
My classification:
This is a real piece that is authentic in all parts and has been worn for a long time (up to max. 1887) in the version of the 1867 model, with the wearer, a “Portepee-Unteroffizier“ after the war m. Decree of February 9, 1882, duly replaced the previous convex chinscales with an ordered smooth one. However, the wearer decided not to attach the back rail, which was reintroduced in 1871, perhaps because the helmet he procured himself (no chamber stamp) does not show the deformations that often occurred.
The team's crest was never changed at the bell. The eagle is still attached in its original condition with the rare type of attachment using pins (see photo). When promoted to “Portepee-Unteroffizier“ the wearer therefore continued to refrain from exchanging the helmet eagle for an eagle with an open crown.
The right side of the helmet has a regulation "sergeant cockade". Diameter 51mm. Since the line regiments did not wear parade bushes at the time, the ball cannot be unscrewed. Unfortunately, there is no indication of the wearer in the form of a name drawing. The height of the helmet is approx. 23.5 cm with a weight of 634 grams.
