M15 Prussian.

Well,I know it's a standard M15,but I always call them ersatz, just something between the ears, because I think they are a cheaper substitute than the M95's.Thanks for the replies, :thumb up:

Thanks for the replies, and yes,I know the strap is a repro, the buckles are not OK,and the leather is glued together, not stitched. I'm looking for a chinstrap that's original,so if anybody has one, :)

Original M15 chinstraps are hard to find but sometimes i have see them on the French ebay there is a seller ( ne-le-dit-a-personne ) who always has a lot of haube parts.

An original chinstrap ( fair condition ) sold on ebay about a couple of weeks ago for $280 plus. That is the price of a very good set of chin scales .

:o :o :o

Ouch!!! Well,I'll keep looking, but in the mean time it's better to have a repro strap than no strap. :)

I agree, ebay.fr is my primary source for haube parts.

Very nice M15 example Coert! The chin strap issue is always with us. I know that some collectors will buy a beater helmet just to get a complete strap if it has one...I know I would. The rarest strap of course, is the one with silver/nickel fittings for the pioneer and leibgarde helmets. Good luck on finding one of those!
