I have just bought my first Pickelhaube - the M16 ORs. From the attached photos, do you think it is all original? From this site, I tried to inform myself of what to look for. The experience of other members has been enormously helpful. Do you think the cockades and the chinstrap are original? they are so often reproductions. But my major question is about the spike fitting : it is very loose and doesn't fit with the idea of German military thoroughness. Any thoughts by properly experienced collectors to a very new collector would be greatly appreciated.
