Lyndon,

I have several M17 and M18 helmets with chromed leather liners in similar condition. In my opinion, this liner is correct and original for a M17 helmet.

The paintwork on the helmet looks very rough (ie, painted over a rough surface), but it still looks right to me. :)

Other opinions?

Lyndon I wa talking to a friend today .Hr had a buetiful display of M16 and M17 Camo's .He say's they can range in price from $500 US to 1500 US for a really good one.
There as for sale at the show I was at today it had some Shrapnel scars and a bullet entry and ekit through front visor. $550 CDN it came with strap liner and pads

I have 2 of these camoed stahlhelmes but neither compares to the colour quality of this helmet. I am no expert but this looks like a very nice example to me. What I like about the paint is the fact that there is evidence of the base colour showing through the lighter paint. You can not fake that. Brian

I do not collect these yet . But this look's good to me. I am actually learning to collect these from the pics and questions you ask .
