M18 Stahlhelm with size stamp on exterior

Size 62 M18 helmet, maker unknown, on which the size stamp was mistakenly placed on the outside flange during manufacturing. This is the only helmet that I've seen so far with this odd feature. The helmet has survived with both halves of the chinstrap intact as well as the complete liner including cushions and the original issue liner cord. The interior rear flange has a nicely preserved AK 62 acceptance/size marking in blue ink. The shell shows signs of having had a helmet cover on it for a considerable period.

No maker/size markings are to be found on the interior flange, only the "62" size stamp on the helmet's exterior. The smelting lot # is in its usual place on the interior dome.

A very desirable helmet Hans! I think (no, I'm sure...) this one would look great on one of my helmet shelves too...
This is one of the few complete and in excelent condition M18 helmets that are out there...
