Hello Everyone!

In the name of education, I am starting this thread as a place to publish information on M1915 helmet tops.

I delved through my photo files and found I have a number of images that might be useful in this endeavour. I apologize in advance if some of you recognize your own photos, I have had some of these for years and lost track of where they came from. Also, I ascribe to the words to live by:

Turn me into a Toad, see if I care!

Here goes:

1. The classic M1915 Prussian enlisted man's spike:

2. A Bavarian Uhlan Regiment enlisted man's tscapka:

3. A Prussian Guard Uhlan officer's tschapka:

4. A Feldgrau Prussian Cuirrassier helmet:

  • 5. A Jaeger zu Pferde helmet:

Okay guys, help me fill in the blanks.

    Cheers,

    Laurie

Hi Laurie:

Here's my initial contribution, an M15 officer's Kugel from a Württemberg FA 13/29 helmet.

Hi Charles,

What a neat little piece! I would not have expected a screw top in conjunction with the bayonet mount but, of course, some regiments could wear plumes in parade dress.

Thanks for the contribution.

Cheers,

Laurie

Hi Laurie:

This specimen provides a new twist (yuck, yuck) on the M15 officer spike. Rather than a bayonet mount, the stump is threaded. The helmet is Württemberg Landwehr and made of Vulkanfibre.
