I started to build a WWI diorama and it was nothing like this... NOW THIS IS A DIORAMA:

Dropped in on this exhibit in the old Dominion Museum in Wellington over the weekend with the kids, The diorama is only one part of an incredible tribute to WW1. Anything with an association to Peter Jackson and the Weta Workshops is going to be worth seeing. I went in knowing it would be excellent and but I was not expecting it to the visual spectacle that it is, it is absolutely fantastic and well worth visiting as is the exhibit at Tepapa museum (also in Wellington) also featuring Weta Workshops creations.

I wife and I are going to be there 12 October. I have contacted the exposition to ask if there is anything I can do. Pretty presumptive of me.

Here are a few images, all these are full scale exhibits, all we managed before the camera went flat. Sorry the image quality is not the best but you get the idea and I couldn't figure out how to resize them on my wife's lap top...I'm somewhat of a technophobe at times.
The link below is a brief article on the Te Papa exhibit across town from this one, also a stunner.

Wow, beautiful diorama AND full sized exhibits! I have a hard enough time painting one figure, let alone think of any group of those in the diorama!
