Mecklenburg-Schwerin Dragoon Regiment 17 circa 1867

Not sure about the age of this but I'm guessing it's probably in the 1870's. He has one of the Mecklenberg-Schwerin dragoon sabers. The hat is not one I'm familiar with. If anyone can decypher the writing on the back I'd appreciate it. I think it's probably the guys name.

I'm wondering if this photo pre-dates the Mecklenburg Dragoon Regiments' absorption into the Prussian army in 1867. That hat does not look like anything the Prussians wore.
