Militaria stores in Italy?

Hello all,

I’m going to be visiting Italy in January, can anyone recommend good militaria stores in Rome, Venice, Bologna or Florence? I have found one in Rome on Via del Coronari that looks good (if pricy) but not much else. I trust the opinions of this forum far, far more than the generic results of google searches… Thank you.

I think the days of shops in distant lands is largely in the distant past.
While in Venice be sure to visit the Naval Museum. Really a fascinating place to see. And the Castel Sant'Angelo in Rome has some great items on display.

In Florence there was a Military shop on Via Romana, south past the gardens. Nice guy, seemed pricey, would not bargain with me. hope that helps

I'll leave the floor to my Italian friends (Giorgio e tutti quanti);)
On the other hand, I'd recommend the Dolomites front, where there are some extraordinary sites in the mountains (via ferrata, rock caves, trenches in the rock), just like at Monte Grappa. And museums like Cortina d'Ampezzo, Monte Grappa and others. But in January... there's also skiing...
As far as shops are concerned, if it's like in France, window displays have become very rare. Most have been transformed into dematerialised Internet sites, purchase from photoswith, remote payment, Paypal, CB with code, etc. And DHL UPS LAPOSTE home delivery, Amazon style. That's the modern world.

Thank you people for the responses. I suspected that bricks and mortar stores might be a bit light on the ground…
