More about K WII and the 1912 Manover in Switzerland

I went back over my card collection and found 3 more different views.
This must have been quite an event.
1 card is printed in French.
I wonder how many different uniforms that K W II took with him?
In some of the photos above he is wearing the uniform of the
Garde Schutzen Batl.

The French postcard is not printed as a real photo.
So we see a dot pattern
poor quality compared to the others.

Glenn what more do you know about this event?

Steve,

it was the culmination of the Kaiser's visit to Switzerland in September 1912. Arriving in Zurich on the 3rd, he attended the manoeuvres of the Swiss 3rd Army Corps over the next couple of days and arrived at 1430 hours in Bern on the 6th. He visited the Swiss Parliament and he returned to Germany that evening following dinner departing at 2130 hours.

The photograph is taken outside the railway station at Bern. Interestingly, the photograph is captioned in error; Nr. 5 is not General der Infanterie Freiherr Hoiningen gen. Huene but Flügeladjutant, Oberstleutnant Maximilian von Mutius. General von Huene is the officer to his right. To Fürst zu Fürstenberg's right we again see Frieherr von Jenisch in his 1. GUR uniform. The Flügeladjutant between von Mutius and Bundespräsident Forrer is Major Max Freiherr von Holzing-Berstett.

Glenn

Steve,

as shown in the second photo down taken on the 3rd of September in Zurich. As the Garde-Schützen-Bataillon had initially been recruited to a large extent from the Swiss canton of Neuchâtel (Neuenburg) and the Prussian Kings held the title of Fürst von Neuenburg, it was an appropriate uniform to wear.

The Leib-Garde-Husaren officer is Kammerherr, Rittmeister d.R. Ewald Freiherr von Kleist. The Swiss Major to his left foreground is Ulrich Wille (jun.), son of Oberstkorpskommandant Ulrich Wille, commanding 3rd Army Corps. Major Wille's Battalion, Schützenbataillon 6, provided the guard of honour at Zurich rail station. To his left rear is General der Infanterie Moritz Freiherr von Lyncker, (Generaladjutant and chief of the military cabinet) then Martin Freiherr von Jenisch, General der Infanterie von Moltke and Oberstkorpskommandant Sprecher von Bernegg. Generaloberst von Plessen and General der Infanterie August Graf zu Eulenburg (Oberhof- und Hausmarschall) are looking directly at the camera. The Swiss colonel in the right foreground is Bundesrat Arthur Hoffmann, chief of the military department.
