Mütze Opinion

I have been looking at this Mütze and I wanted another opinion.
It was listed before, and I was the highest bidder, but I didn't meet the reserve.
Before I go any higher than I did the last time I hope to get some feedback.

One of the criteria I use when looking at Dunkelblau Mutzen is bandwidth. The headband is usually about 1/3rd the overall height of the Mütze. I also look at the stitching on the inside leather band (private purchase type) to see if it is the same all around.
This Mütze looks like the upper blue and the red headband are the same width, leading me to believe that it may be a Schirmmütze that is missing the Schirm. I can't tell by the photos.

What do you think?

John,

I would agree with your assessment that this was a Schirmmutze that is missing a visor. A pity.

In my opinion, you usually won't see that particular style leather headband in a private purchase tellermutze.

I agree with both Johns 😀

Shape & fabric typical for Schirmmütze; foot soldiers were already allowed to use these off duty since at least 1896, so for this to be a Tellermütze it would have to be older but for that it has the wrong shape.
