Hello Gentlemen,
I‘m happy to show the 3rd find for my collection, an officer Cavalry-Saber around 1900. The cool thing is an engraved owner cypher of Prince Alfons of Bavaria, so I hope it was owned by him :)
In 1880 „Alfons von Bayern“ joined the army and in 1892 became commander of the Bavarian „Schweren-Reiter-Regiment“. In 1905 he reached the rank General of Cavalry, finishing his career as the commander of 7 K.B. Chevaulegers-Regiment.

Thank you..Can‘t wait to hold it in my hands and to investigate it. Hope the cypher is authentic :D

Thank you very much for the tipp..I will ask him when I got the Sabre. It would be cool if I got a Sabre of a guy who was called „Seine königliche Hoheit“ :D
Meanwhile I investigated a bit further and in the same auction a lot of personell stuff from Alfons of Bavaria were sold. Also a Jacket of his „Dragoner-Reg. No.5 - Freiherr v. Manteuffel“, for which he became the leader in 1913. So the chance of originality exits [-o<
Further I found some pictures on „www.hermann-historica.de“. They show Alfons of Bavaria in the Uniform of his Dragoner-Regiment No.5 and with a Lionhead-Sabre, I guess. Maybe with the Sabre I bought (unfortunately I can’t add Pictures to this Forum, allways get a Server-Errormessage).
But if anyone got a picture with of Alfons of Bavaria with Dragoner-Uniform or with a Lionhead-Sabre, I would be very gratefull if you would get in contact with me. Thank you gentlemen :)

It took a while, but I‘m proud to represent my finished wall-display for my sabre. It is self constructed but I saw one like this in an us-onlineshop where the idea is from. I‘m very happy with it :)

Judging by the result it was more than wurth to wait for the result
It would never come to my mind to make a display like this
Love it!!!
