I bought this one in the late 70’s from a collector getting out of WWI and into American Civil War. I was told it was piped for Pioneer, Artillery, Transport, and flying (both aircraft and zeppelin). It is of a summer weight material with a black velvet band. Both cockades are multi-piece construction. The liner is an artificial silk with a paper thin leather sweat band. The original owners initials: I. W. appear on the liner.
