Hello,
This a "probable" bring back but the story was very sketchy when I bought it so can't claim it's 100% picked up on the field. It is however certainly battered about enough to have been brought back and is a nice named 1915 pattern other ranks for Infantry 76 from Hamburg. (twice)
I have added original cockades as they were missing and repaired the rather "hanging" in there chinstrap just to keep it together.
Also have a collection of other 76 related items for sale as pictured below. Not connected to the owner of the helmet in any way but makes a nice display. The CDV shows the wearer with a Prussian cockade as was correct if they were not born in the city state of Hamburg, an assumption I have made when putting the cockade on the helmet. Plus find an original Hamburg O/ranks cockade !
