Need help regarding a sale at a auction house in the US

what does it means when the auction house askes;

If you wouldn't mind verifying your mailing address; I want to make sure we have the correct address to send the auction proceeds. (We could also wire the funds to you, if you prefer.) Payment is sent out thirty days after the auction.

I don't get the part; " I want to make sure we have the correct address to send the auction proceeds"....
Do they send the money one way or a other ???
Isn't ; bank wire the best option?

They want your mailing address .

If you want tell them you wish to remain anonymous and please wire me the proceeds.

In a lot of ways it is easier for them to send a check.

It costs them money to do a wire transfer.

yes, for some reason Wire transfer overseas from the USA is really expensive, the banks just kill us on the fees, along with this, depending on the $ amount, you have to justify why you are sending money overseas via wire transfer, a post 9-11 precaution.
