This one just came in from my local ad, a very nice heavy M73 Artillery sabre in awesome condition.

Back spine has Crown with W and 05 under Langat blade is marked ALEX COPPEL.

Super nice that the scabbard and the cross guard have exact same markings so they have stayed together all this time.

Markings are 4.A.F.III.4.M.10, never seen one quite this long, any help on ID would be great!

thanks

James

Sweet sword with excellent markings! Unfortunately, I can not provide any other information.

James:

That's a beauty!

I had one of these Artillery sabres years ago and I've been kicking myself for letting it go. That marking has me stumped though.

Looking at the Imperial German Regimental Markings by Jeff Noll, it looks like:

Fuss Artillerie Regt 4, Abteilung III, Munitionkolonne 4, Waffen 10.

Very nice find.
