Posting some pics here for Steve...his latest Dragoner officer straps:
Second Dragoner:

19th Dragoner:

15th Dragoner:

nice to see differences between those individuals especially at the letter A
one is thin and closed and the other fat and open 'legs'
there also in great shape
the difference in those cords they used on those dragoner 19 straps is that of different manufacturers or by private purchase then

3 of the 4 Oldenburg D R 19 straps in the photo came from the
famous Zentner collection. The 3rd one from the left
the Major with the thick black Prussian darts
and the silver tressa which was a special feature to the D R 19 straps
still has the I D tag Zentner placed on it while in his collection
reads as follows ; Major a. D. Oldenburg Dragoon Regt Nr. 19
X . A . K.
For the most part I have found the retired officers to
have the thick darts in the cords .
The pre-war underlay of D R 19 was white .
Later all the Dragoon regiments went to a blue underlay
and most had at that time 2 rows of piping .
In the case of the D R 15 in the other photo it is their old
underlay of pink ( rose red ) over the blue .
D R 19 dropped the white underlay but retained the silver tressa
over the blue .
Brian has a D R 19 officers strap on the way to him
to go with his D R 19 Reserve Officers helmet .

The Dragoon Regt 2 Generals pair
we have already coved at an earlier date .

The Dragoon Regt 15 photo shows a pair
for the rank of Lt. Col. as worn pre-war .
The single Lt. Col. strap with subdued cords
and feldgrau number 15 has the original
underlay of the regiment pink ( rose red )
over the blue underlay . This is another strap
from the Zentner collection .
I purchased it with 3 other straps in the photo
the pink looked white , so I was not sure what
regiment is was until it arrived .
