New helmet

This one just came to me today, outside is typical M95 Prussian uncleaned and unmessed with.

Inside is well marked 6 THIR95 for Thüringen Infantry Regiment 95

Now I know it does not have the Thüringen wappen or Kokarden, I believe this helmet to be unmessed with IMO, and those of us that have been collecting for awhile have seen picture and or Postcards with this regiment showing a bunch of different wappen on their helmets including the basic Prussian.

Please let me know what you think?

Hi James,
Have been reminding myself to reply to this post and yes I am doing it.

I think you are asking if we think there should be the coat of arms to be affixed at the chest of the eagle.

Baldwin had one in his book with the marking of NR95 and with a Konig badge. His explanation is that the Fuerst badge with the nickel Saxon coat of arms is expensive and labour intensive so it only has the Saxe-Coburg-Gotha state cockade to identify itself.

So that makes your helmet correct. I have problems loading the pictures for your reference so will send it to your email.

Well, you got that helmet an hour before me from the dealer, You lucky winner =D> =D>

To add further to this thread, I have a clearly marked JR 93 Anhalt OR's helmet which came with a Prussian wappen. We know that they did this from the original photos...:( However, if the original JR 93 wappen had been present, it would have cost me at least double the cost.
