I am new to the site, so I hope I am following the rules. I will be posting all 6 headgear items that came with the collection in the correct categories i hope.
I mainly collect wwii helmets so my knowledge of these is very limited. I recently acquired an amazing collection of WWI German headgear. Any info you can add to what I have would be appreciated. Please point out the flaws if any.
I believe it is an M1862?
Missing something on sides holding chins ales on
Rivets on top? Three look to be replacement screws :)
Officer?

Hello Stahlhelms.
I think you are correct in your assessment; it appears you have an original model 1862 helmet shell, spike, eagle, cockades, and chinstraps, though you are missing some original studs holding the spike base on, and missing original hardware securing the chinstraps to the helmet. The liner appears to be new. I offer this subject to correction by my colleagues who are more knowledgeable than I.
