New manufacture of pickelhaubes

Esteemed members of the Forum,

I am new here at this excellent Forum so please forgive me if I do not use the correct terms or otherwise do not follow you protocol perfectly.

I am the band leader of a Corps of Drums at the Swedish Royal Guards. Our regiment use pickelhaubes with the parade dress. Our old pickelhaubes are running scarce and are now very worn and torn, and now the regiment is forming another company to compete for the same helmets. We must simply look for new manufacture of them. This however does not seem to be an easy task.

Our model is called Kask (spiked helmet) m/1887 for the Svea Life Guards. You can see some pictures at http://www.gardesmusik.nu/uniform.asp

I am simply wondering if any of you at this Forum know about companies manufacturing helmets, probably in Germany or Asia.

Yours truly

Peder Peterson

I saw this place, but you may have to build it yourself and they`re based in Canada.

The following link is to a German firm that markets reproduction spike helmets. They may be able to assist you.

Hello Peder,
Be most welcome to the forum, there is also an fellow who has access to reproduction German helmets by the name of Paul Schipper http://www.schipperfabrik.com/1a-germ_helms.html . If you were to need a number of helmets, he may be able to help. Laurie (Kaiserzeit) also does reproduction parts, and again, if there are a number of parts needed it becomes much more economical to produce them. The other side of that would be that if these helmets are used offically, then they become authentic M1887/2006 helmets.
Best wishes
Gustaf

Hello Peder,

My thanks to Stuart and Gus for their support.

Peder, I would gladly work with you to create some helmets for your band. Please contact me at:

if you like.

I warn you, to get it right will be quite time-consuming but worth it in the end.

Kind regards,

Laurie Thomson
