Studio portrait of Oberst Lüddecke in the uniform of the Kgl. Sächs. 7. Infanterie-Regiment König Georg Nr.106 (note his shoulder boards were still the 1910 type with poppy red underlay), photographed in January 1918. He held the Pickelhaube and typical Saxony infantry officer’s sword with his right hand. Lüddecke retired from the Kgl. Sächs. 11. When the Great War broke out, he was called back to service.
