Here is the presentation of the Schirmmütze and Schulterstücke worn with the Regimental Uniform of the Grand Duke „Friedrich August von Oldenburg „ as Chief of his Oldenburger Dragoner-Regiment Nr. 19.
Note the „Schulterstücke“! There are 2 identical specimens, namely for the right schoulder side!

Best regards

That's absolutely magnificent. Thanks for sharing!

Dear Community,
Following my post, I would like to introduce you to the matching epaulettes.
Worn by Grand Duke Friedrich August von Oldenburg with his Regimental Uniform as „Chief“
of his Oldenburg Dragoon Regiment No. 19.
I left the epaulettes in the condition in which they were found and did not carry out any cleaning work!
best regards
Frank

Great set
I think that you did the right thing not to
try and clean them
IMO leave them "as is "
What a super group
too bad that we ( Mike Kelso & I )
do not know you when he did his book
on shoulder straps
your group would have been a great addition to the book
Did you get all 3 items together at one time
or did you have to track them down one by one ?
The epaulettes appear to have black velvet under them
Thanks
Steve

Hello Steve,
I am very pleased that the ensemble finds favor in this esteemed circle!
In the last 15 years I was able to purchase it in 3 batches from a specialist dealer I trust.
The relationship has existed for 25 years and fortunately I was able to acquire other groups.

Yes, the pads of the epaulettes are made of black velvet as described in the regulation!

Steve, I am well aware of your great book on the schoulder straps. A friend bought it for us together and I check back often to match certain shapes and types!

Best regards
Frank

Thanks for the reply
The book was done by Mike Kelso and it is his
My only claim is that he came to house more than once
and took photos of my strap collection to use in his book

Here a couple of my I R 91 straps
if you can see on one strap the cypher and crown
are in high relief
on the other strap the cypher and crown are rather flat

I really don't remember
It is under a large glass cover
sometimes I make a small card to put under the strap
with the date that I got it and from who I got it
and how much I paid for it
the next time I remove the cover
I will check and see
