Original chinstrap M1916 on eBay

Hi Otto:

I own two Otto Koch chinstraps; one with brass fittings, one steel. I have reservations about these and have never seen one that wasn't stamped 1917. Furthermore the "& Co" seems a bit too American for my liking. "Cie" is the abbreviation I would expect.

The leather is always extremely thick and the adjustment buckles massively flat and square. They are completely unlike any chinstrap I have encountered original to a Pickelhaube or Stahlhelm.

These where plentiful on Manions a cuople years ago, I also have a cuople, but I am with Chas, not sure if they are real or not??

I would lean towards the Not real!

100% fake IMO.. Imported from Germany.

To the best of my knowledge you will not see an original EM chinstrap with a makers mark & date. All the originals I have seen have been unmarked.
