One of the few helmets I acquired within recent memory is this Boxer Rebellion era Tschako named to "Sergeant" Marte of the Ostasiatisches Feld-Lazarett (field hospital) As one can see, the Kaiserkrone has been neatly removed – perhaps in compliance with Weimar Republic mandates. In all other respects, the Tschako is a textbook example. The Reichsadler is easily dismounted from the Tschako via an external prong/mounting bracket system like its fellow M 1900 Pickelhaube. As these helmets could be "de-brassed" (without tools) in a mater of seconds, there was no need for a cloth Überzug for camouflage.
I purchased the helmet as a companion display piece with the B.A.O. Pickelhaube I purchased from George Anderson several years ago.

The Tschako's Infanterie counterpart.

Cheers,
Charles
