Here we can still visit the original positions of the German Marine divisions “Aachen battery” (built in 1915). From this battery, the only surviving of its kind, many elements are still preserved:
two observation posts, four gun emplacements and a bombproof shelter.
In WW II the same place would be recycled as the Atlantic wall , in 1944,
the most known visitor to this very site was a certain Erwin Rommel….
