This is my main hobby outside militaria.....well it might be my main hobby.

This is a recreation of a Roman infantryman from 1st Cent BC to mid 1st Cent AD. Everything is based on extant Roman military equipment from the helmet to the caligae (boots)

Thanks for the compliments! I certainly worked hard on it. I always wanted an authentic Roman helmet, but knew I would never be able to afford one. I guess you can say the Romans invented pickelhauben with this style helmet. So my friend and I built this one and it went down hill from there...........as you can see. Joe the pilum head is based on one from Mainz I believe, and the shaft length I based on several monuments and grave stella for the length. I just adjusted it to my height.
