I was watching Pawn Stars Volume 4, Ep. 30 "The King's Bling," just now. They had a pair of Pickelhauben; one was a gray-trimmed felt Prussian helmet. The second helmet appeared to be a brass-trimmed officer model. Its spike appeared to be attached with furniture tack heads (the "daisy" type, not the smooth dome ones) and the Prussian eagle had a smooth cross (apparently a home-made sheet metal item) with a piece of red fabric stuck behind it. The expert who examined the helmets mentioned only that the leather one appeared to have had some stitching replaced, but he totally glossed over the bogus cross and the furniture tacks.
