Dear all,

Recently, I obtained a little photo album with WW1 period photo's. The photo's are accompanied by a little description in German and from what I understand the photo's are from around Liege and also fort Loncin. I bought it because it looked nice and personal but to be honest I have no clue what to make of it. Your opinion is therefore most welcome :D

Now it is just a matter of deciphering the words that are written down next to it

Edwin,

Sometimes things just fall into place. I am extremely extremely interested in this photo album. I cannot see any detail in the pictures but this is exactly what I am researching right now. I am actually up to eight August and Loncin was still in operation. There might be some very very good pieces of information here as well as some nice pictures that I might beg you for the book. any more detail that you can coax out of these pictures I would appreciate. You are probably well aware that the Belgian commander was located in this fort. do you know what unit is represented in the photo album? I am particularly interested in any photos of bridges or river crossings.

The photo's in this album cover the period from October 1914 to June 1915. From what I am able to read it deals with Liege, Namur and Louvain. It also shows pictures of fort Loncin and a French POW camp. RIR219 is mentioned in this album, but I am not sure whether this is the unit that is represented in this album.

Edwin
