Pickelhaube Iron Cross case....post WW1 I believe

Hello all, new to helmet collecting and found this piece. I think it's legitimate but post-war. In nice condition and the auctioneer says the box is original to the piece. Looking for opinion honestly, is it a legitimate item or a souvenir from much later?? I know nothing so any guidance would be appreciated.

Unfortunately I don't know. It sold at the auction Monday for $205 but I was unable to bid due to internet connection issues with my phone. (I live in the boonies and service was spotty Monday)

Popped up on the bay and I couldn’t resist. The EK1 is by a very rare maker called Victoria. Rob
