Just wanted to start a topic regarding spike helmets (of all nations) you never knew they exited or just simply rare ones.
I remember a member posting rare or seldom seen helmets for a quiz, but I guess those pictures are lost too....
Here is my first one.
My guess would be detmold lippe firemen ...

Soled recently as a Belgian police helmet...
First time for me to see one...
 
Very interesting post. I think a lot of us forget just how popular the "spike style" helmet became after the Franco Prussian War of 1870-71. There are published lists of the many countries who adopted some form of the pickelhaube or spike topped headdress.

Have you for instance noticed the same monogram on the two first helmets I posted!?
Both are to a Leopold II, but both are different kings in a different country ...!
