Dear friends,
I extended and renewed the photo-pages about the Ypres Salient in my site Pierre's Photo Impressions of the Western Front.
(Yes, right, the site with the slogan "One picture tells a thousand words.")
I used also the recently made footage of late september 2005.
And for the bunker-afficionado's: lots of bunkers, many newly refound bunkers.
Because of this overflow of footage, I was forced more or less to change and add some new pages.
The whole sector of pages about Ypres has been changed:
* Menin Road part 1, part 2 Hill 62, and part 3,
* Zillebeke, Hill 60
* Potyze, the French War Cemetery
* Boezinge, view from slope of A19, Essex farm Yorkshire Trench, Ziegler bunker
* Langemark, Poelkapelle, St Juliaan
* Passendale Ridge and Tynecot Cemetery
* Polygon Wood
* Wijtschate, Mount Kemmel
* Bayernwald
* Bunker Hunting with Regulus around Messines
In the future I will add a few black and white pictures in these pages.
Not too many b&w's, due to lack of upload space.
It is also possible, I will add and revise some texts i.e. Bayernwald.
I tried to interconnect the pages by links, like making a trip by car.
This might give the illusion sometimes, it has all been photographed in one day.
Some locations have been photographed on several days in spring and in autumn.
If you find a failure, please contact me by email.
To be expected soon is also a new page about the Yzer- Front, the Belgian sector.
Also there at Nieuwpoort or Nieuport was the most western point of the front.
We made a trip from the sluices complex of Ganzenpoot, "Goose Claw"
to Dixsmuide along the Yzer -river to Leke and Vladslo.
Of course you will find also pictures of all other battlefields of the Western Front in the 68 photo-webpages.
Let me know, what your reaction is.
Thanks for your attention.
