Not bidding on this, but thought I'd post it. The parade bush doesn't look anywhere near right (trimmed to the wrong length) and the helmet itself looks like it was made post war???? A Fake? To me, it just doesn't look right.... Sometimes I feel like I'm becoming more stupid about all of this....

This guy has been trying to sell this, among his other junk, for quite sometime know... The first time he posted it, he had a $6,500 Buy-it-Now option!!
 
I think the shell looks like it was manufactured post WWI (since they still made Pickelhaube for veterans, as well as a few the Nazi government tried as uniform items), so I think the body is from the 1920's and the plate looks nice, but I wouldn't swear that it or anything else on the helmet is original to the shell. I'm sure somebody will buy it and think it's the greatest, so... well, ahm. I guess they'll like it... as it is, what it is. hm.
It just doesn't 'sit well' with me. I think the biggest problems are the spike base with the big pearl ring and the trim given the parade bush, but the whole thing just doesn't make it for me.

Its best to leave this seller alone as well as his crap that he has up for auction :D
