Pre WWI Prussian Pickelhaube

Another pickelhaube from my buddy's bag purchase, this is the of the ones I cleaned up, may pick up a few more to clean next time I am in the area.

Brass fittings, non removable spike so I am figuring Prussian pre-WWI. Ford the cross on the front mean it was a reserve unit?

Not sure what the markings on the inside represent, any help would be great.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim,
This is a typical 1891 model (reserve Prussian infantry). Note the differences.
The spike should rotate to obturate ventilation holes.
Take care, Bruno

Hi Jim: Keep up the posts, its great to see what you have and the helmets that belong to your friend. I would have a heart attack if some guy rolled up to my door with a sack of helmets! Well probably not, but he sure as hell wouldn't be leavin with that sack! Just a heads up, the best way to take pics of these helmets, is outside on an overcast day. A sunny day outside is no good because it creates shadows but cloudy with no sun makes for great pictures! I get frustrated sometimes here, because I have pics to take so I can post them but I am experiencing sunny conditions. However, it is well worth the wait. Clear pics really help on the forum with identifications.
