If it is a Weitze helme it should be good but more pictures would help.

1897 :-k The chinscale and screws suggest an older model, could it be 1867?

These earlier models are not as valuable as the wartime examples ,although they are more interesting antique wise , not so much historically.
A mistake beginning pickelhaube collectors often make.

Ok Ok....so we all know we have to be careful with any piece that we buy from anyone. I have never bought anything from Weitze but he is well known in the market.
