Are there numbers on the underside of the lion?
Looking at the liner, i see why you have doubts.

The trefoils are very similar to reproductions that I have seen. Also the shape of the visor doesn't appear to be correct to me.

Are there any makers marks, size markings etc?

Anyone want to comment on the kokardes?

I would not like to call repo, but I would be wary of this one myself. What is the detail on the Lion like?

This has just confirmed what I always thought, that it is a reproduction. Still it looks nice on display.

Agreed. The detail on the lion is a bit overdone (ribs). I've one similar bought as a repro... since I'll never afford an original unless my rich uncle gets out of the poor house.

It IS one of the nicer reproductions and does look good. If you have originals in display cases, leave this one easy to access. That way if somebody comes to pilfer your house, they might take the repro and leave the originals alone.
