Prussian Cavalry Officers Saddle

The auctioneer had this listed as a "PferdSattel" and it had been passed on at least a couple auctions. The min bid dropped below 100 euro and I decided to take a flier on it. I'm glad I did. Per Herr & Nguyen (see below) it seems to fit the description of a regulation officer's "PritschSattel". It is made (mostly) of pigskin and has the quick-release stirrup bars. The manufacturer would seem to have had some connection to the 2nd Guard Uhlan Regt so it's possible (but not guaranteed) that this could have belonged to an officer of that regiment. The two-tone saddle seat is pretty sharp. There are holes and impressions where the brackets for mounting a spoon would go on the back of the seat.
