Prussian General Officer Helmet ID

I have been sent another Pruss
Gen Helme for restoration. This one has a partial store label and partial name written on the label. Hoping, that our experts can identify the owner. The first letter of the first name looks like an E, the rest is gone, then there is a small letter "v" which I would take to be von and then the last name Plessen. So, in summary, a general officer with the name E von Plessen, if I have indeed interpreted the writing and missing letters. I have asked permission to post a foto of the label which will be a cool addition to our helme seller's list (will also post here), I could not wait to at least get the name out there on the forum. There is a Hans Georg v Plessen on Wikipedia, Perhaps the first letter in script is a G ??? Game on gentlemen!

Actually, if the surname is Plessen (and that does appear to be the case), then there is really only one contender and that indeed is Generaloberst mit dem Range als Generalfeldmarschall Hans Georg Hermann v. Plessen, Generaladjutant and Kommandant of General Headquarters. The only other Plessen holding general officer rank, Generallieutenant Hermann Karl Franz, died in 1877.

Glenn

Brian ;
How about more photos of the helmet as it arrived ?

I think that I have a signed photo
of von Plessen.
I need to check .

Thanks Glenn, I was hoping that you would pick up on this. Is there any identification of that first capital....is it a form of "G" or "H" using the old German pre 1915 script? Perhaps he used his middle name during his service years ? Lots of questions. Thanks Steve, there are pics of him on the internet but post yours please. I have the usual "before pics" and will try and post them tomorrow. Helmet needs both visors restitched and the cloth liner, other than that, it is in fine shape. Another label pic:

According to Wikipedia....Born Nov 26 1841 died Jan 28 1929. Began military service in 1861. The "before" pictures of the helme will be posted tomorrow in the restoration section.

Actually guys, I posted the "Before Pics" tonight in the "Restoration Section" Please check them out.
